1. What is HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose)?
HONGHAI brand HPMC is an odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic cellulose ether derived from natural high molecular cellulose through a series of chemical processes. It appears as a white powder with excellent water solubility offering properties such as thickening, adhesion, dispersing, emulsifying, film-forming, suspension, adsorption, gelation, protective colloid features, and moisture retention.
2. Physical and Chemical Index:
(1) Appearance: White or off-white powder, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic cellulose ethers.
(2) Particle size: The rate of 100 mesh passages is more than 98.5%; and 80 mesh is 100%.
(3) Bulk density: 0.25-0.70g/cm3.
(4) Solubility: Soluble in water and some organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, and trichloroethane. Solution possesses surfactant properties. PH value does not affect solubility in water.
